Death comes without knocking

Today has been a day of both joy and sadness. My friend’s dad passsed away. He was with us three weeks ago – he was in his early 70s, a man full of youthfulness, zeal and ideas. He always stayed with us when he travelled to Delhi.

Around 3pm I got the news that he had a major accident and died on the spot. What a loss for all of us. He was a father figure to many, always helped people in the low strata of society. He’s touched thousands of lives with his compassion, care and love. He never held himself from helping the needy.

When it’s time go ‘home’, nothing can stop, is what people say. I don’t think God wants you to die with a lot of pain. He was riding a bike and I think at an age of 70 one shouldn’t do things that need a lot of agility, energy and swiftness. Death doesn’t knock before coming and that’s a reality we must live with.

I would like to end with the the ‘joy’ part of the day and that is, my friend had a major accident too. She was at an intersection in her car. Her car was hit from the side by another car and made it turn 360 degrees. She’s alive! The car got smashed quite badly, but her life is spared. Thank God for that.
